Carrington House
The property and house were absolutely beautiful. I would recommend staying here based on location, size of house and style. The beds were comfy and the yard was beautiful overlooking part of the city.

My complaints are more so with the management company, which switched between when I booked and when I arrived for my stay. We asked for an early check-in and the access code did not work when we arrived. I had to call numerous times and did not hear back until 2 hours later. Next there were supposed to be 12 towels, one for each quest and we were not given enough. Communication went back and forth with me and the new management company who said we can only give you 12, but then never came to provide us the full amount of towels so my girls had to share towels the whole weekend. Coffee was stated to be provided, but they were whole beans and no grinder was provided. Half of the lounge chairs outside were also broken.

The house is beautiful and I hope the new management gets it together so guests can have a nice and relaxing stay. Thanks!!

Great place for a family gathering
A number of family members from across the country met in Austin for Easter weekend and this place was perfect. Plenty of common space, including the large yard, grill and porch; as well as space in the numerous bedrooms to take a breather from the rest of the group. We had the house and guest house and the layout offered great flexibility.

Great spot for 30-something groups
This property was perfect. We rented the guest house and the main house for 12 guests while we were in town for a wedding. The criteria for my party was tough - there were couples and singles and the couples each wanted their own room. Luckily the two houses were more than able to accommodate, and almost everyone got a private bathroom. We hosted a dinner for 12 over the weekend at the large dining room table, and spent a lot of time hanging out on the porch. Karrie, who was between property managers at the time, was extremely helpful with all my questions. The only thing we were a bit surprised by is that there is a 3rd property on the premises, and there was someone else staying in it when we were there. We had cars, but it didn't feel like we needed them--it was no more than a 30 minute walk to downtown, and a very quick Lyft or Uber ride. The house is not right in the middle of the action, which worked for us, it felt like a peaceful oasis from the craziness of downtown. The house is also right next to a park with a trail that leads all the way to Barton Springs, so it had something for everyone. The beds were comfortable and the house was meticulously clean when we arrived. It is an old house, so there are parts of the house that are squeaky, but nothing terrible. 3 of the bedrooms are on the main floor, so if there are parts of the group looking to go to bed earlier or for more peace and quiet, they'd do well in the 2 upstairs bedrooms or in the guest house. Few notes that didn't detract from our experience at all: bunch of the porch chairs were cracked or broken. The oven worked on the broil setting but not on the bake setting - we set it high and it never got much hotter than 150 degrees. We let Turnkey (the rental management agency) know and they were very helpful when we had questions during our stay. All in all, highly recommend.

Amazing property!
We hosted the attendees of our business workshop here and it couldn't have been better. The proximity to the city combined with views that make you think you are in the middle of nowhere was kind of astonishing. The house was clean and well maintained, though definitely vintage. Each of the 5 bedrooms has it's own bathroom, which is perfect for a group of business associates.

Convenient, Clean and Comfortable
We had a large group of people from all over the world share this house while attending a film festival. Everyone loved the house and enjoyed the huge yard. It's very close to the bus stop on Lamar Blvd which is very convenient for getting around. And there was plenty of parking for the people that got Car2go or rental cars. The house has lots of character and was clean and comfortable. It's walkable to the UT tower, the Harry Ransom Center and Bob Bullock museum and the Capitol, which are all great tourist attractions.

Great Austin Experience
We stayed here with my teenagers and another couple for ACL. The house is a gorgeous 1920s (?) house on a beautifl lot that overlooks downtown. It is about 4 blocks from UT campus and very close to downtown. The house was perfect for our group. Each bedroom has it's own bath, the kitchen and gathering spaces are big and comfortable. It has been well-maintained and was very clean. If you are looking for a big house with an Austin-vibe that is located in a beautiful neighborhood, this is it.

Very nice, large house for group convenient to Austin attractions
We found the Carrington house perfect for our large group. There was plenty of space for each individual to be comfortable and have privacy while house sharing. The nice big dining room table was a big plus since we could all gather together for meals. The yard was especially nice and has a great view looking over Austin. Great for dinner outside on the patio or under the gazebo. Convenient location. Close to downtown and UT. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely house for large groups (lots of suites)
With five separate bedroom suites (all with full baths), this is an ideal spot for large groups or couples. The home is well kept with a decent full kitchen and very nice living and dining spaces. The dining room has a large table to seat 10+. The outdoor space is especially nice and we spent most of our time out there enjoying the view.

Great for a big group
Nothing fancy, and a bit further away from the action than we would have preferred (which we knew going in), but overall a great, reasonably-priced space for a big group, especially if you want to be close to UT. Having so many beds and bathrooms was very convenient, and the common area was comfortable. We found things to be very clean. Emails and texts with information were helpful leading up to our visit, and finding the property and checking in were all smooth. Thanks!

Large, comfortable house; great location
I met my sisters, daughters, sisters-in-law and some nieces in Austin to celebrate my 70th birthday. The Carrington House was perfect - very large (5 bedrooms and bathrooms) comfortable and well-equipped. I was a little worried that it was too close to a busy street (MLK Blvd), but that was not an issue at all - we could not see the road and could barely hear it. The neighborhood is very nice.

The house is within a mile or two of downtown Austin, Zilker Park, good restaurants on Lamar, Whole Foods, etc. However, it is really not close enough to walk to most of those places, so you do need car(s) or plan to use Uber/Lyft/taxis.

My only complaint was that when one sister and I, who were arriving early, asked if we could rent the place for one additional night for the price we would have paid for a hotel instead of the full rate, the answer was "we don't negotiate on price." Since there is a three night minimum, and the place was not rented within two days of our arrival, that seemed a little rigid.

Historical House fun for graduation !!!
This rental was a nice place to stay for our daughter's graduation from UT - we had 10 adults stay comfortably in the house -- the corn hole set, large gathering table, views of the city sky line and the yard made for a very festive weekend.
