Quaint re-done beach cottage. Loved the furnishings the bunks beds were perfect for our girls and the 3rd bedroom had a king bed for our son. The Master was light, bright and liked the extra sitting area, although we didn't use that. The doors off the master and the family room were great to let the ocean air in. Well equipped in the kitchen with everything to spices, pots, pans etc. Bring or buy your own saran wrap, baggies etc. There were beach towels, sand toys, boogie boards and bikes, we never used the bikes. There is a little shed in the back for the outdoor washer and dryer. They had little hotel soaps, shampoo's, plenty of pillows, towels and hair dryers. We mostly sat on the front on the deck even though the house sits on a major road, Tamarack Ave which is the intersection for most of the south end Carlsbad. The AC helped so you could close the windows, but the traffic is abundant. I am the lightest sleeper of the house but it is a bit of a drag to hear all that traffic literally all hours of the day & night. We were a bit shocked to see the for sale sign in the yard, hoping no one would want to see the house while we were there, it was good luck and we didn't need to tidy. The walk to the beach was perfect, literally 1 block downhill to Tamarack Beach. Perfect sand and waves, it sits a bit on a dune but it was perfect. As for the other reviews spot on, I would have given this house 5 stars but the traffic was a lot. This is a great location if it was 3 houses in, but then you don't have the slight ocean view. Pros & cons. I was doing laundry and the owner lives in the house in the back and did scare me as she was in the yard too. Nice lady but surprised to see someone in the yard when you are doing laundry. Do eat at Pizza Port, huge beer selection, great wings & pizza, it is busy so prepare for a bit of wait. We did eat at Fresco 264 modern farmhouse Italian, delicious. When you want to take salads, sandwiches or even ice cream to go Linda's Ice Cream Shoppe, the owner is so personable. The portions were huge, & fresh, definitely a great lunch spot. The best dinner was Blue Water Grill sits on the other side of the tracks, but the best seafood and service. Their to go steaks & seafood looked delectable too. We were trying to get to the Charles Kenneth Speakeasy but ran out of time, Follow them on Instagram for their password. Super close to get to Legoland 7 mins drive and the outlets were the best. Overall a great beach getaway!
