Here are a few of our suggestions:
As charming as the name implies, this lovely, family-owned olive plantation offers a day full of food and indulgence. Texas Hill Country Olive Company produces high quality olive oil and vinegar, as well as beauty products such as soaps and body balm.
Take a tour of the gorgeous grounds, purchase unique olive oil spa items to spoil yourself or friends, and dine in the wonderful bistro. The Bistro at The Orchard’s menu has too many delicious offerings to post here, but as a tease they offer an appetizer of varietal olives marinated in garlic olive oil and Mediterranean spices. Dinner may include roasted red pepper soup with a flatbread pizza, then for dessert try the almond olive oil cake with dulce de leche buttercream or the olive oil brownie and a scoop of vanilla gelato.
Cool off in the bistro with a pitcher of sangria or glass of wine. They offer daily specials as well.
You will not walk away disappointed.
Known for excellent, hand-crafted vodkas, Deep Eddy boasts their line of top-quality flavored vodka and signature cocktails available in their tasting room. What better break from Texas heat than a chilled Lemon or Ruby Red vodka or a Deep Eddy Fuzzy Navel made with their peach and orange vodka? The tasting room is open Thursday through Saturday from 11am - 5pm, and on Sunday from 12pm -5pm. Feel free to take a tour of the distillery to learn about the process of distilling and the history of Deep Eddy Vodka. Kids and dogs are also welcomed in the tasting room!
At Treaty Oak they are distilling vodka, rum, bourbon and gin. Tour the rack house and see how it all happens. Then wet your whistle in the tasting room or as they suggest, "outside under the oaks." This gorgeous ranch offers amazing views, yard games, play areas and live music on weekends. A gift shop offers goodies for you to take home to family and friends, or simply to treat yourself. Treaty Oak can be a great dinner destination as you try some nibbles from the bar and wash them down with a signature Treaty Oak beer at the Ghost Hill Restaurant. Texas inspired meals are on the menu along with their signature cocktails. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday so you can plan a wonderful weekend day!
Hamilton Pool is one of the most unusual and gorgeous natural pools you will see, however, be willing to take a short hike to get there and plan ahead. Reservations are required from May to September to indulge in this natural swimming hole.
Due to the required reservations you are guaranteed a sparse crowd and plenty of pool for you. There is a parking area and about a 1/4 mile walk to the natural pool. You will find this natural, green pool nestled in a canyon and a 50 foot waterfall continually spilling into it. The hike is a bit rocky and you will need to bring your own drinking water. There is also no swimming after 5:30pm.
The location is truly amazing if you're up for the outdoor adventure.
Enjoy more outdoor adventure with many options at Reimers Ranch Park.
