The Marieta Islands are a chain of small uninhabited islands that lie at the entrance of Banderas Bay. The islands are home to 44 different species of plants and wildlife. Formed years ago by volcanic activity, the park became a national park in the 1960s. Take a catamaran tour to the island to see the local wildlife on what is now referred to as the “Mexican Galapagos.”
Take a snorkel or scuba trip from either city and you are guaranteed an amazing experience. The crystal clear waters give way to a vibrant life bustling just under the water’s surface. See everything from sealions and dolphins to stingrays and coral.
Nuevo Vallarta is renowned for golfing. Courses like Grand Luxxe, Maya Resorts, Mayan Palace and Paradise Village all span Banderas Bay, providing quality courses with breathtaking views.
Nightlife is plentiful in Puerto Vallarta. The streets are lined with busy bars and restaurants that overlook the bay. Once the beachgoers have showered and eaten, they hit the streets to the wee hours of the morning, sipping on the finest Tequila and Mezcal Mexico has to offer.
