Quaint Little Cabin Near Rio Grande Bike Trail was Perfect for Us!
We had a great time in this cute little cabin that was located perfectly near the Rio Grande Bike Trail between Basalt & Aspen. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Our only problem was an electrical strip that wasn't working properly, but once we figured that out, it was fine. Cabin is cozy and is right off the highway, so if you're wanting to escape all car noise, that won't happen. We didn't mind the noise, and it really wasn't that noticeable. You can walk down right next to the river where there are chairs, a hammock, fire pit, bbq grill, and more, and from there, you don't even know that you are near the highway. It is located excellently if you're wanting to bike the Rio Grande trail. We biked to Woody Creek Tavern for lunch and then on to Aspen. The ride back to the cabin was all downhill, so it was great fun. We would definitely stay here again! (The place is dog-friendly, so was perfect for our biking companion, Bobo the Chihuahua.) It's also right on a bus line with a stop just a short walk away, so you don't even need a car! Cabins are spaced apart, so you don't hear others and have complete privacy. We cooked dinner two nights in a row by using the gas grill and our kitchen had everything we needed. If you want to get away from hotel/motel/condo type lodging, and you have a dog, this is the place for you. (Also, we were informed up front - before placing our reservations - about not being able to leave our dog alone in the cabin, and we were fine with that.)
