Our family has stayed at Squaw Creek Resort a few times prior to this last visit. It is a well-groomed, upscale family resort with plenty of activities for both children and adults. Our previous stays have always been great. We initially reserved a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit on the 9th floor. When we checked in, the front desk told us that the owner of the unit had switched our room for a 5th floor unit (much to our surprise & concern since it wasn't what we had reserved). When we arrived at the 5th floor unit, much to our surprise, it was a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, beautiful wrap around unit. It was fully stocked with toiletries, kitchen items, paper products, where as, our previous rentals were usually quite sparse in that department! The unit was furnished with plush pillows, linens & decorated beautifully. Truly a nice surprise! The only complaints we have about the units are that there is no "gold" coffee filter. We brought our own coffee (due to knowledge of lack of it in prior rentals at Squaw Creek), thinking we were prepared. Unfortunately there were no coffee filters (paper or otherwise), simply the "hotel style" prepackage coffee bag inserts...even then, there was just one. The other complaint would be that the bathrooms have no locks on the doors. Not sure why they don't, but if you have multiple people staying in the unit, it may be something to invest in. The resort really is family oriented. There is, of course, the pools with slide, spas, sandy beach & a bar:). There are also hikes, bikes, golf, soccer golf, yoga, nightly movies by the pool, etc. Certainly a good time during the summer. Unfortunately, this summer there is a HUGE bee problem in the outdoor areas (pools, patios at the restaurants, bar, everywhere!). I know the hotel staff is trying very hard to eradicate the bees (ground hornets?), and I hope they do. It certainly was a big problem on our trip, but at least we didn't get stung. Overall, our stay was a much needed relaxing getaway & we will certainly look into staying at these particular units again. They are truly lovely!
