It’s Southern living at its best at this 10-acre Bear Point Estate, featuring a 2BR cottage and 1BR guest house. Built in the 1930s, both retain their original charm while offering up-to-date amenities like air-conditioning and fully equipped kitchens. Ideal for families, the 500 feet of private beach access includes shallow, calm waters where the kids can swim. Soak in the views of Perdido Bay from the large deck, shared dock, and the long fishing pier. Please note: This is a non-smoking, pet-free property. Violation of these policies will result in fines starting at $200. ABOUT THE ESTATE Drive down the winding driveway, passing live oaks dripping with moss, and pull up to the 1930s era homes. In the “Nutter House” cottage, the laid-back living room features beach decor and comfortable seating, including a sleeper sofa and 32” flat screen TV. Cook up tasty meals in the well-appointed kitchen, then gather at the three-person dining table in the living area or the three-person table in the kitchen. The kitchen bar seats two. Nicknamed the “Love Shack,” the guest house is cozy and inviting. Enter into the main living area with a sofa, chair, and wall-mounted flat screen TV. In the kitchen, meal prep is a cinch thanks to full-size appliances. A bistro table seats two. The two properties sleep up to eight comfortably between three bedrooms and a sleeper sofa. The master bedroom in the cottage has extra sleeping space with a queen bed plus a small daybed that’s great for kids. Just off the master is a screened porch -- the perfect spot for coffee or an evening cocktail. The second bedroom has two twin beds. Both bedrooms share a full bathroom with a vanity and massive tub with shower. In the guest house, the bedroom boasts a brass four-poster queen bed and shabby-chic furniture. Another full bathroom has a walk-in shower with vintage black and white tile. Guest amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi and a washer/dryer. Parking is provided for four cars in the driveway. Note: There are two other homes on this estate -- one is a rental and the other is owner-occupied. THE LOCATION Set up camp for the day out on the private beach with over 500 feet of frontage. The shallow waters are perfect for the little ones to wade, swim, and chase crabs and minnows. Boat trailer parking is available on-site. If you don’t have your boat, rent one from Hudson Marina and Watersports (5 minutes) and dock it at the shared, on-site boat dock. There, they also offer jet ski rentals, parasailing, pirate cruises, and dolphin tours. Relax in the shade under the stately live oak trees with a good book and glass of sweet tea, or get in a little exercise and fun out on the sand volleyball court. Get better acquainted with Mother Nature out on the Backcountry Trail, a network of paved trails winding through marshes, dunes, parks, and even a butterfly garden. When dining out, Flipper’s is just a 15-minute walk. Head into town for other great dining options like Doc’s Seafood Shack & Oyster Bar and Big Fish, both just 6 minutes away. Enjoy delicious pub fare and water views at the Pleasure Island Tiki Bar (5 minutes); throughout the week, the bar is hopping with live music and dancing.
