Why Santa Barbara guests love staying with TurnKey...

"We loved our stay in Montecito. This studio is only a couple of blocks from a very nice “village” area with shops and restaurants. Nice private courtyard, and just the right size for a husband and wife getaway. Will definitely stay again."..."

Romantic Studio Cottage Near Beach
"This was the perfect property for a couple or 2 friends. It is definitely small, but the outside is adorable and the location can't be beat. You are a 5 minute walk to a main strip with great cafes, restaurants, & shopping. You're a 10 minute walk to butterfly beach, which you can extend to walking miles on a bike bath to the pier/ funk zone (if you'd like). The room itself has a comfortable bed (the pillows were too thin/ soft for my liking, but this is a personal preference). The room was clean & nicely decorated, with all the simple amenities you need for a weekend. I wouldn't consider the "kithcen" anything to prepare meals in/ prep - but the fridge was nice for leftovers & the sink/ microwave can come in handy as well. The main shining star in the "kitchen" is actually the washer/ dryer! It was so convenient to have that. Overall, this place was perfect & we hope to be back sometime in the future!"..."

"Truly enjoyed staying in this comfortable home. We had everything we needed in the way of supplies and amenities. The AC went out on our last night but they had a large supply of fans which made it tolerable for the one night."..."

How to pick the perfect vacation rental in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara has long been known as a mecca for well-heeled travelers, living up to its reputation as the “American Riviera.” Less than two hours from Los Angeles International Airport, Santa Barbara draws travelers for its year-round mild climate, Spanish-influenced culture and proximity to more than a dozen wineries. Santa Barbara is also home to events that bring to town major crowds, including the Santa Barbara Wine + Food Festival, the Santa Barbara French Festival, and the Old Spanish Days Fiesta.

Follow these tips to make sure you select the perfect Santa Barbara vacation rental for your travel plans.

  1. Where to stay to enjoy local wineries. While there are more than a dozen wineries in and around Santa Barbara, seven are located off the intersection of State and East Canon Perdido streets. Choose a vacation rental close to State Street or Garden Street, which is just two blocks northeast of the wineries, "including Happy Canyon Vineyard, Grassini Family Vineyards and Jamie Sloan Wines.
  2. Where to stay for the Old Spanish Days Fiesta. The annual five-day festival that showcases Santa Barbara’s rich cultural history is held each August, with many events happening in the area just off the beach between Castillo and Garden streets. Select a home in the East or West Beach neighborhoods to enjoy the Mexican markets, arts and craft show and all the entertainment the festival has to offer.
  3. Where to stay for beautiful mountain hikes. The Santa Ynez Mountains — which unlike most mountain ranges, run west to east — offer amazing views of the ocean, waterfalls and the red-tile roofs of Santa Barbara. The mountains are just outside the city, so choose a vacation rental home in the near Mission City if you’re looking to spend time hiking.
  4. Where to stay for the Santa Barbara Wine + Food Festival. This annual festival is held at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. If you happen to be in town when it’s held in June, choose a home near Mission Creek and Mission Canyon Road for the closest proximity to the museum. Then raise a glass from one of the Central Coast wineries.
  5. How to choose your own Santa Barbara vacation rental experience. One of the best parts of Santa Barbara is that there are no bad parts of Santa Barbara. If you want to spend time on the south-facing beach, choose a home in the Waterfront or Montecito districts. For shopping and art-gallery hopping, find a vacation rental in downtown Santa Barbara. No matter which home you choose, you’re sure to have a memorable time in the American Riviera.
