Oyster Creek Bayou, in Grove City - named for the lemon groves which once covered the area - is in a residential enclave between Englewood and Cape Haze/Placida, halfway between the causeways to Gasparilla Island and Manasota Key. The house is conveniently close to many fine amenities - from 1 to15 minutes away from Gulf beaches, fine-dining restaurants, multiple state parks, nature preserves, walking & biking trails, boat tours, fishing trips, etc. The house is comprised of the main house and an efficiency apartment with full kitchen, bath and private, walled patio, which is connected to the main house by hotel-style, double/security/acoustic doors. It is designed so that when these doors are open, it fits very naturally into the flow of the main house. However, if you wish to close it off for use by part of your party, the apartment becomes a discrete, private space, completely independent of the main house, with full amenities and a separate entrance via the private patio. This is truly a 4-season destination, with its tropical setting and multiple outside gathering spaces: including. the large screened/covered lanai with 2 overhead fans; deck overlooking the creek; private, fully walled sunning patio and outdoor shower. The almost constant, gentle Gulf breeze adds the finishing touch. The property is on Oyster Creek, which leads out to Lemon Bay, across from Stump Pass, with its direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. Grove City is almost completely surrounded by many hundreds of acres of green-spaces, including the contiguous: Cedar Point Environmental Park on Lemon Bay, Oyster Creek Regional Park, and Ann Dever Memorial Regional Park. These wonderful resources include many miles of walking and biking trails, tidal waterways and sports/recreational facilities all within 1 to 2 minutes of the property. The property has dock facilities for shallow draft boats and the included kayak. There is also a private/community boat ramp several blocks away with easy access to the Bay, Intracoastal and the Gulf. The backyard, deck, and dock area are very peaceful and serene and present frequent opportunities for viewing wildlife, such as heron, ibis, osprey, wood storks, etc. The causeway to beautiful Manasota Key is 7 minutes north of the property. Once on Manasota Key, there are three major county park beaches at the north, middle and south end of the Key, as well as Stump Pass State Park, which, at the very south end of the Key, offers absolutely stunning views and access to the bay, the pass and the Gulf. Our closest beach, Englewood Beach, 8 minutes away, is adjacent to several interesting shops and good restaurants. To the south, it is only 12 minutes by car to the Boca Grande Causeway, which crosses the Intracoastal Waterway to Gasparilla Island and the village of Boca Grande. Once on the island, from 19th St. south there is beach access on every street all the way to the south end of the island, which is another 3 1/2 miles. So there are literally dozens of (uncrowded) Gulf beaches. For guests trailering boats, there is ample off-road parking adjacent to the house. In addition to the private, community boat ramp, there are multiple public boat ramp facilities conveniently located north and south of the property.
